I have really enjoyed this course and have gained a lot from learning under my professor and from the assignments for the course. I feel the semester long project was beneficial to have time to fully develop and think in depth on a project. It was a nice experience to take certain parts of the project slowly and to be able to think out each part and how they connect. The project included three different parts, on screen, packaging, and artist books. She left everything very broad and for each student's own interpretation, which gave us all creative freedom and let us explore our own avenues. It also helped me build confidence as a creative and made me feel more comfortable making my own creative decisions. I appreciate my professor pushing me to choose a topic that is so personal to me. I feel I will be able to help other people understand what it is like to have your or a family member's memories fade. I also really enjoyed the live sample projects, and do not get me wrong they were really stressful in the moment. However, these projects pushed me and made me think quickly, but they also helped me find an efficient process when designing. They made me see the beauty in trial and error as well as how it can push you to think quickly and find something that works. My favorite part of this course was talking to my professor and sharing my ideas with her. It was nice to bounce ideas with someone who was very open ended with instructions and ideas. I enjoyed this because it still left me thinking and was up to me to put the pieces together and fleshing out each part on my own. Overall, I'm incredibly honored that I had the opportunity to learn under my professor and to continue to improve my skills as a designer and as a creative.
