This semester taking Interaction Design made me fall in love with UI/UX Design. I learned and grew tremendously over the progression of this course. Now, I am really confident in my abilities to create a website or app prototype, and pitch it to a client. I also learned different laws and principles that I now integrate subconsciously into my designs, such as Pareto's Law. 80% of outcomes come from 20% of causes; so, if I create a design and don't take into account individuals who are colorblind, its an mistake that can be easily overlooked but cause a lot of people to have trouble reading or navigating a site or app. In addition to learning more about user experience and interfaces, I gained experience using Figma. Figma is a software that allows me to create app and website prototypes, along with icons and presentations. At the beginning of the course, the software was completely foreign to me, and after these past few months of practice I feel confident in my ability to prototype and design interfaces in Figma independently. I am extremely thankful for my professor and am looking forward to next semester.
