This week my packaging part of my project was due, and we started presentations. For my packaging I decided to create a mockup of a box that would be used to ship my book that I will make. I created a slogan to go along with the project and its "where memories fade, love remains." I think that this slogan really sums up my project and captures the feelings I want to show. I also packaged myself and memories that my grandmother and I share. I spent time with her over the spring break looking through my old toys and objects from my childhood that had stories or feelings tied to them. This package would be given to my grandmother so that she will always remember me. I'm really proud of what I was able to create for this part of the project but would like to create a new box or form of packaging to hold all of the objects because right now it isn't as clean and professional as I would like. This week I was unable to present due to us having two guest speakers come. They both had very intriguing lectures that I really enjoyed. My favorite part of these lectures was learning about the history of typography and how it has changed and progressed from some of the first written books and hieroglyphs. I also found it very interesting to hear about Sans Serif and how the nazis were against it and went back to the blackletter german font. Blackletter is hard to read and anyone who used a Sans Serif in Germany was punished.
