Introduction
I had the opportunity to collaborate with a client in the music industry to create an album cover for their latest release, Side Wit Me. The design aimed to capture the essence of the artist’s unique style and sound, while also reflecting the themes of connection and self-expression. Through bold visuals and a modern aesthetic, the album cover represents both the energy and emotion behind the music, setting the tone for the listener's experience.
Process
For the Side Wit Me album cover, I began by working in Photoshop to isolate the artist’s image. I carefully removed the background and stylized the photo, adjusting the lighting and colors to create a vibrant, dynamic look. Once the image was refined, I exported it as a PNG with a transparent background. I then brought the photo into Illustrator, where I placed the artist’s image inside a circle to give the design a clean, modern feel. The circle helped focus attention on the artist while complementing the overall composition of the cover.

Deliverables
After finalizing the album cover design, I expanded the project by creating both a vinyl and CD version. Using the same design elements, I adapted the cover art to fit the specific dimensions for each format. For the vinyl, I focused on ensuring the artwork was centered and balanced, making sure the design worked well for the larger square format. I also added any necessary details like track listings and album credits on the back cover. For the CD, I resized and adjusted the artwork to fit within the compact disc’s circular format, while maintaining the visual integrity of the original design. Both the vinyl and CD versions stayed true to the core aesthetic of the album cover, providing a cohesive and professional visual experience across all mediums.
